Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we want you to understand what information we collect about you, how we collect it, how that information is used and how we protect it.
What We Collect
Our Site uses "cookies" and other tracking technologies. Cookies recognize your computer to enable us to serve secure pages to our users without asking them to sign in repeatedly. If a user's system is idle for a defined time, the cookie will expire, forcing the user to sign in again to continue their session. This prevents unauthorised access to the user's information while they are away from their computer.
Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept them, and how to remove them. You may choose to block or erase cookies. If you do so, you will need to re‐enter your original user ID and password to gain access to certain parts of the Site.
In the course of serving subscription content to you on our Site, our third‐party publisher partners may place or recognise a unique "cookie" on your browser.
When you choose to complete the registration process, we may collect the following personal data:
- your name;
- your contact information;
- your photo;
- your credit card information;
- your demographic information; and
- information related to your business.
Other Optional Features
When you sign-up for our newsletter, consent to receiving communications, or request a demo, we ask you to provide us
- your name;
- your contact information; and
- information related to your business.
If you communicate with us using our online chat function or our support ticket system, we may also collect your comments and any information contained in an attachment that you provide.
Occasionally, we may ask you to provide us, on a voluntary basis, with your preferences and demographic information. The purpose is to give you the option to receive communications from us tailored to your interests.
When a registered user sends a newsletter to an end client or prospect, the end client or prospect can use the “share feature” to forward the newsletter to their network. If a newsletter recipient chooses to opt-in to receiving communications from the registered user, their email address will be added to the registered user’s distribution list. In this case, the email is added into the platform and the registered user receives a notification that they have a new lead.
End Client, Prospect, and Recipient Information
We also collect and store end client and prospect email addresses that are provided by registered users.
AdvisorStream Ltd. does not sell end client, prospect and recipient email addresses and does not use them to send any other communication. End clients, prospects and recipients may contact AdvisorStream Ltd. only to request the deletion of their personal data in our database and communication lists.
Registered users are solely responsible for ensuring that their personal data collection practices are compliant with the privacy laws applicable to them, according to where they process the data and where their recipients are. Worldwide, this includes, at a minimum, that registered users only process personal data with prior consent. AdvisorStream Ltd. will delete any personal data that a registered user has collected in contravention of applicable privacy laws.
